In an effort to explain why there are so many problems with the PC version of Watch Dogs, Viard claimed that ' Making an open world run on NG & CG consoles + supporting PC is an incredibly complex task, the team did a fantastic job. Taking to Twitter, Viard claimed “ Watch Dogs can use 3+ GB of RAM on NG consoles for graphics, your PC GPU needs enough VRAM for ultra options due to the lack of unified memory.' For PC users Viard suggests what settings it's optimal to turn down in Watch Dogs to achieve the best playing experience, saying “ If you experience lag/stutter on a fast PC, try to lower one of those settings to reduce the GPU VRAM usage: texture quality, AA, resolution.'

Users have been experiencing low frame rates, stuttering, Uplay login problems and more during the days following Watch Dogs’ release, but Sebastien Viard has been quick to announce that a patch is in the works to fix these problems which is due imminently… A Watch Dogs patch is in the works to fix the plethora of technical issues that are affecting PC gamers, with the Watch Dogs technical director defending the job done with the PC version.
